Many of us eagerly wait for our daily cup of coffee without realizing the hard work behind it. From harvesting to processing, cupping, roasting, storage, and shipping, it takes 4-6 months to have a cup. It’s a laborious process that involves many hands and skills.

It’s amazing to think of gathering with coffee enthusiasts worldwide to celebrate this unique beverage that we crave every day. We can witness all the hard work that goes into making a quality cup of coffee, discuss sustainable coffee farming practices, how to grow the industry, and more. Coffee is more than just a daily beverage; it represents our social ambiance, culture, and who we are as a continent. It has a lot of meaning to Africans. The AFCA Coffee Conference is an excellent opportunity to celebrate this fantastic beverage. It’s a great way to witness how much effort goes into making a quality cup, discuss sustainable coffee farming practices, how to grow the industry, and ways to contribute to the coffee sector.

The African Fine Coffees Association (AFCA) is a regional nonprofit, nonpolitical, and member-driven association that represents the coffee sectors in 12 member countries. Its members consist of private and public sector coffee stakeholders including producers, exporters, international importers, roasters, policymakers, transporters, and trade representatives. The AFCA has an 11-member board of directors representing each of the AFCA country members. It was founded in July 2000 with the aim of promoting and strengthening the African coffee industry.

The 20th African Fine Coffees Conference & Exhibition and 1st African Coffee Week is a much-awaited event. The theme for this year’s event is “Specialty Coffee at Origin.” The conference will bring together coffee enthusiasts, baristas, and industry stakeholders from across the continent and beyond. Attendees can look forward to a range of events, including coffee and barista training competitions, trade workshops, sustainability day by Rainforest Alliance, cupping sessions, and more.

This event is a great opportunity for coffee industry professionals to network with other stakeholders in the industry, gain insights from experts, and learn about the latest trends and technologies in the coffee sector. With the support of AFCA, this event is expected to drive the growth of the African coffee industry and promote the production of high-quality coffee at origin.
