REUTERS POLL PREDICTS 25 PER CENT RISE IN COFFEE PRICES

Arabica coffee prices will rise nearly 20 per cent by the end of 2019 according to a poll by news agency Reuters.Reuters said its poll indicated that prices would rise as Brazil shifts to an off-year in its biennial production cycle.“The survey participants anticipate a global deficit of 1 million bags in 2019/20, compared to estimates of a 4.25 million bag surplus for 2018/19,” Reuters reported.The news agency said tightening global supplies in the coming season are expected to lift Arabica prices to US$1.25 per pound by the end of 2019.
